Holy cow! Woke up this morning to the first proper snow of the year! It’s finally winter! Woo hoo! It’s been really crisp and clear here with highs of 10°C (50°F), which is not normal for west coast Canadian winters, so we’ve been taking advantage of it to visit places like the Chilliwack Community Forest, about 15 minutes from our house!
Wow, January was a busy month around here!
The iron finally kicked in late December, and I’m honestly shocked by the difference in my energy levels!
I’ve been working super hard to write as many posts as possible while getting the monthly e-book ready on time.
I finished the first e-book of the year – Formulating fun with hyaluronic acid (featuring Oleo HA)! – which you can look at by clicking the link.
If you were an Innovation level subscriber in January, you can get the coupon code by clicking here!
We finished the series by Natalie Skiller (Facebook, Instagram, and her new Patreon, This Formulating Life!) on creating sheet masks with a gorgeous facial serum full of peptides!
We have even more coming from her in February and beyond!
Whats’s coming up for February?
I have loads of posts ready to go for February, I have two e-books outlined, and we have a Zoom workshop planned for February 23, 2025, on oily gels! Woo hoo!
Yep, we’re having our first Zoom workshop of the year on February 23, 2025, on making oily gels with Sapogel, Sucragel, and possibly sodium surfactin.
In the run up to the workshop, we’ll be playing with Sapogel Q and Sucragel to make oily gels, and I’m hoping to get a write up ready for sodium surfactin in as well.
And this is so exciting — I’m starting up Chemistry Thursday again on February 6, 2025!
We’ll start at the very beginning – as I understand that’s a very good place to start – with atoms and such, and work our way to using this knowledge for things like acids and bases, charges like anionic and cationic, and electrolytes. You don’t need to know a single bit of science or chemistry or math to follow these posts! You just need to be excited to learn!
Be not afraid! I didn’t take chemistry in high school or university – I took my first class at age 38! It’s never too late to start. It’ll help you understand the “why” of the world!
You might have noticed the name of your subscription level has changed.
That’s because our prices changed for new subscribers. If you’d like to learn more please check out this post and refer to this chart! (Thank you Natalie for your awesome graphics skills!)
