How to navigate this blog

I’ve been seeing people commenting on Facebook groups, my page, and here along with messages to me on Facebook that they find this blog hard to navigate. If I can be honest, I’m perplexed as we’ve been working hard to make it easy to find what you want, but every single day someone suggests that I should add a search bar or they say they are messaging me on Facebook as there’s no way to contact me on the blog, two things that I thought were super easy to find. So I thought a tour of the blog was in order. I’d love to hear your feedback on what you’d like to see here, so please comment!

SEARCHING & PINNED POSTS – DESKTOP USERS

If you look to the right hand side of the screen, you’ll see the search bar.

Underneath the search bar, you’ll see the pinned posts, where we keep things you might want to find quickly, like the Welcome to (insert month) post, where you can find links to things like the Q&A and duplicating request posts.

SEARCHING & PINNED POSTS – MOBILE USERS

If you’re using a mobile device, scroll down to the bottom of any post after the comments and you’ll see the search bar. You’ll also notice this is where we keep the pinned posts.

NAVIGATING THE MENU BAR – DESKTOP AND MOBILE

If you look up at the menu bar, you’ll notice a title might have a little pointy down arrow. If you click on this, it’ll show you the things we’ve grouped together under that category. In the Resources section, you’ll notice I have so many things under that heading!

When you see the little arrow beside a word in the menu, click on it and see what else is there!

QUESTIONS ABOUT MEMBERSHIP – DESKTOP

We’ve created some resources about memberships, such as how to subscribe and what each level offers. Go to the menu bar and click on the little arrow to see all the information you need.

LOGGING INTO THE BLOG

There are two ways to log into the blog. The first is to log in when you see a post you want to read. You can see the last paragraph says, “You are not logged in” then “Please log in if you are a member”. If you’re a member, click on the button that says “log in” to log in.

Or you can go to the menu under “shop” and you can see you can log in to your account there.

IF YOU CLICK ON A LINK AND YOU GET THIS PAGE…

It means the link is broken. It doesn’t mean you aren’t logged in or that you have done something wrong. It means we need to update something. If you want to send us the information on the broken link, that would be great as we could update it.

And it doesn’t mean there’s information on the blog you can’t access. It just means there’s a broken link that we need to fix.

IF YOU CLICK ON A LINK AND IT SAYS YOU HAVE TO BE INVITED…

That means the link goes to the old blog. The information is somewhere here on the new blog as this contains everything from the old blog and about 700 posts more. You could do a search for the name of what you seek.

Please click here for more information on this topic.

I’m not inviting anyone to the old blog, so please don’t ask. I had three choices when I took it down – I could delete it forever, I could make it private and invitation only, or I could make it private and only the author can look at it. As Raymond and Chris are working on the blog with me, I had to make it invitation only so they could do the work they needed.

FINDING THE E-BOOKS YOU’VE PURCHASED OR HAVE AS PART OF YOUR SUBSCRIPTION – DESKTOP

You can find those materials in the shop, which you can find in the menu bar. Click on the arrow to see all the options, then go to “my account/login” to find your account.

CONTACTING US FOR VARIOUS REASONS! – DESKTOP

Click on the little arrow beside the words “contact me” in the menu, and you’ll see there are a few things under that heading. This is where you might write to us about tech support, too, but please read the section carefully as writing to me instead of Raymond, who offers tech support, means your message may not get to the right person. We really want to help you, which is why we ask you to write to the person who can help you most.
