Membership FAQ

Subscribers keep the blog ad, sponsor, affiliate link, and “one weird trick” free, allow us to buy new ingredients, and buy new equipment, like the many pH meters I own, an incubator, and a viscometer, to name a few.

You can find all this information in the membership levels tab of the menu bar, but I thought I should share it here, too, as it seems that section might be hard to find?

Every member gets access to all the paid posts that have ever been on the blog.

If you’re a $10 subscriber, you get access to the e-zine for that month, not e-zines from previous months. Every once in a while, we offer the e-zine of your choice, but it’s kinda random so I don’t know when that will happen again.

For $1 US a month:
You’ll get access to subscriber exclusive posts on the blog including the monthly duplicated formula, ingredient write ups, advanced formulas, and Experiments in the Workshop.

For $3 US a month:
You’ll get access to all the subscriber exclusive posts, like the duplicated formula but you’ll also get the opportunity to make suggestions about what I’ll make!

For $5 US a month:
You’ll get access to all the subscriber exclusive posts, the opportunity to suggest what formula I should duplicate, and the chance to ask as many questions as you like with guaranteed answers!

For $10 US a month:
You’ll get access to all the subscriber exclusive posts, get to suggest a product duplication, access to the Q&A thread the chance to ask as many questions as you like with guaranteed answers, AND the monthly e-zine (delivered at the end of the month) containing loads of formulas and ingredient information. And we often have discount coupons or special deals for shops, like Lotioncrafter!

In addition, we may offer discounts on things like the recent Shampoo Bars e-book or bonus formulas, like the 24 days of Christmas. I’ve also shared handouts, like the charts I took down from the blog, and little videos I make. (These are random and done because we think it’ll be fun.)

All subscriptions start the day you sign up with an initial payment the same as the monthly subscription amount. Your initial payment pays for the calendar month you sign up (e.g. June) and a recurring payment will be created for the first of the following month (July 1st). The payments are not pro-rated as you get access to everything the moment you subscribe, including e-zines.

Wondering if it’s worth it? In June, I wrote 36,477 words or around 146 pages if this were a novel! (If you include the e-zine, I’ve written more than 60,000 words or around 240 pages.) And we’ve added 557 posts since December, which means in 221 days, we’ve shared an average of more than 2.5 posts a day.

Everyone is welcome at the new blog, and we’d love to see you there joining in the conversation! So far this year, we’ve had 3,688 comments, more than at least the last three years on the old blog, and we have a lovely community that’s growing by leaps and bounds every day!
