Cetrimonium chloride is a positively charged or cationic ingredient that acts as an excellent detangler by reducing combing forces, which reduces friction on our hair. We can use it as the main ingredient in a light detangler or conditioner or as an addition to rinse off or leave in conditioners. I generally add it at up to 2% in leave in conditioners or detanglers, and at 1% or so in conditioners. It will reduce the viscosity of the conditioner.
